Your comment about the massive hole in the Democratic big tent, as much as anything, that damn big hole let tradesmen, craftsmen, anyone with callouses on their hands, mud on their boots and a measure of pride walk out that hole. Bad news is the BS, hyperbole, misdirected algorithms and slight of hand of Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation allowed for easy pickings of folks who grew up in a tradition and felt no love from Democrats. You hit it on the head. Trump is only the puppet of the Russel Vought’s and Howard Lutnick’s in the Republican Party. These two are the antitheses of working Americans. The conversation about identity should harken back to civic responsibility. Without that we lose a democratic government.

Respectfully Daniel - I believe the problem you and others are trying to get your arms around may be the gap between what is needed by individuals, regardless of gender identity, and what is being offered collectively to us in our current society. I think of it as the economic politicalization of our lives - OR reaching for too much fame, fortune, and excitement in exchange for the destruction of common sense and our souls. That is a bad deal for everyone in any era.
